Víctor Hugo Pérez proviene de aquel nido de talentosos creadores que es la ciudad de Guadalajara, y una vez más trae a San Miguel una muestra de su destreza al crear el más emocionante arte outsider o marginal. Esta exhibición en particular incluye, y básicamente enfatiza, su amor por los gatos y los perros.

Tomando inspiración en el comportamiento de sus propias mascotas, vemos a su gato acechando pájaros, peleando con gallos, o cariñosamente acurrucado en el seno de su amante. Distintos óleos se incorporan copiosamente, con maestría y emoción, sobre el lienzo en tanto que acuarelas exquisitas y transparentes nos guían hacia el mundo de Víctor Hugo. La exhibición es realzada por unas cuantas esculturas, magníficamente ejecutadas en bronce, siempre provenientes de la colección del imaginario del artista. Su amor por la vida doméstica nunca está muy lejos de un pícaro sentido del humor.

Víctor Hugo Pérez hails from that very gifted nest of creators from Guadalajara and once again brings to San Miguel a sample of his dexterity in creating the most exciting “outsider’s” art. This particular presentation includes and basically underlines his love of cats and dogs.

Culling from the behavior of his own pets, we see his cat stalking birds, fighting with roosters, lovingly poised in its mistresses lap. Excitingly rendered oils laid thickly onto the canvas and exquisite, transparent watercolors guide us into VHP’s world. The exhibition is further enhanced by a few beautifully executed bronzes, always from the artist’s imaginary menagerie. His love of domestic life is never far behind from a wicked sense of humor.
